Camera Performance




 In this camera performance, I walked through this traffic light 24 times (because I happened to be in Hong Kong for 24 days when I made this piece) and recorded them all, took a picture of me in the same position from the same location in these videos, and then stacked these pictures together through different transparency to commemorate the time I came to Hong Kong. I was like walking through this traffic light through the same speed, and then stacking these 24 videos together, in this way, the 24 of me in the same scene with almost overlapping paces overlapping each other, with all kinds of pedestrians chaotically weaving in and out on the street, can convey the sense of heaviness and chaos brought by such repetitive days.
I think that performing with a camera can convey emotions and states that cannot be conveyed by still photographs, but you need to be very clear about what you want to convey through the performance and show it directly in the performance.


在这个相机表演中，我走过了这个红绿灯24次（因为制作这个作品的时候我刚好来了香港24天），并把他们都录了下来，从这些视频中的同一位置截取一张我在同一位置的图，然后把这些图片通过不同的透明度叠在一起，来纪念我来香港的这段时间。我本来像通过相同的速度走过这个红绿灯，然后把这24段视频叠在一起，这样子，在相同的场景中，步伐几乎重叠的24个我重叠在一起，街上各种行人混乱的穿梭，可以传达出这种重复的日子带来的沉重感和混乱感。
我觉得通过相机表演的方式可以很好的传达静态照片无法传达出来的情感和状态，但是需要非常清晰自己想要通过表演传达什么观念，并且在表演中直接的展示出来。
